Free Admission to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Offered for Second OHOF Saturday, Art Exhibition Panel & Summer Thursdays

OKLAHOMA CITY - JUNE 25, 2026: The Oklahoma Hall of Fame will host several events this July, including family program days and an exhibition panel in partnership with the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC). Guests can visit the Museum for free on Saturday, July 11 for Second OHOF Saturday and the OVAC exhibition panel. Free admission for Summer Thursdays continues throughout the month of July.
Second OHOF Saturday Provides Monthly Free Family Fun
On the second Saturday of each month, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame offers free admission and crafts to visitors of all ages. On Saturday, July 11, the Museum will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. offering a cowboy-themed craft and the chance to learn about this month's featured Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member, Walter Merrick. Save the date for a Super Second OHOF Saturday on August 8, which will also include activities from a community partner.
OVAC Members Show Panel Features Local Curators
The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) will host an exhibition panel at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum on Saturday, July 11 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The panel features local curators Jason Cytacki, Lexi Rodriguez, and Marcus Leonard and will be moderated by Mattie Barlow, Curator of Collections & Exhibits at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Each year, the OVAC Members Show celebrates the wide reach and talent of artists from across Oklahoma. This year's exhibit includes works by 59 artists from 22 different towns and cities. The annual OVAC Members Show is currently on display at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum now through August 1.
Summer Thursdays Continue with New Themes and Community Partners
The Oklahoma Hall of Fame's free Summer Thursdays continue through July. There are no scheduled activities on July 2 ahead of the holiday weekend. Summer Thursdays resume the following week, with free admission, crafts, scavenger hunts, tours, and more offered from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the remaining Thursdays in July.
Each Summer Thursday has a unique theme with a featured Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member, craft, and story time book. Upcoming themes include:
- Routin' Around Oklahoma - July 9
- Sooner State Superheroes - July 16
- Prairie Picassos - July 23
- Take the Stage - July 30
Community partners bring an added layer of fun to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame's July programs. July 16 will include demonstrations from the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department and the Oklahoma City Fire Department, as well as a resource fair featuring various family support organizations. Artist Cassie Good will lead community art projects on July 16 and 23. The Oklahoma Children's Theatre and teaching artist Al Bostick will join the festivities for the Summer Thursday grand finale on July 30.
