Free and Low-Cost Programs Happening this Month at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame

OKLAHOMA CITY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2025 – YOUNG PROFESSIONAL BOARD APPLICATIONS OPEN, FREE SATURDAY PROGRAM, HOMESCHOOL DAY OFFERING AND A $6,000 SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE.

SECOND CENTURY BOARD SEEKING ENGAGED YOUNG PROFESSIONALS FROM ACROSS THE STATE
Young professionals from across the state are encouraged to apply to the Second Century Board starting Friday, September 12 through Sunday, October 12, 2025. The Second Century Board is a group of young professionals, 40 and under, dedicated to supporting the mission of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame to tell Oklahoma's story through its people. The board supports free educational and culture programs at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame by hosting an annual fundraiser — Oklahoma Born & Brewed, volunteering at Museum programs, and holding outreach events with inspiring Oklahomans. FREE FAMILY FUN OFFERED EVERY SECOND SATURDAY
Explore the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, engage in activities and learn about remarkable Oklahomans on Saturday, September 13 at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame! Families can take advantage of free admission the second Saturday of every month, 10 AM - 2 PM, for Second OHOF Saturdays. Free activities such as scavenger hunts and crafts are available at no cost. PRAIRIE TALES: FINDING THE STORY IN HISTORY
The Oklahoma Hall of Fame's next Homeschool Day will be held Wednesday, September 24, 10 AM - 2 PM. Homeschool Days feature self-facilitated and staff-led activities that are educational and engaging. The theme for September, "Prairie Tales: Finding the Story in History," will encourage young minds to uncover history's mysteries and learn to think like a historian. Additionally, local authors and historians, Bob Burke, Bill Moore, and Randy Beutler, will be helping lead activities. Homeschool Days are offered quarterly and are recommended for all ages. $6,000 SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
Applications for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Scholarship are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, October 17. This $6,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one Oklahoma high school senior. Based on the student's leadership roles, civic/community involvement, academic achievement and knowledge of our state, the scholarship is open to all high school seniors who are seeking to further their education at an Oklahoma university or college following graduation.
