OKLAHOMA CITY – MARCH 12, 2025 – Families looking for inexpensive yet fun activities over spring break should look no further. Spring Thing, hosted by the Oklahoma Hall of Fame at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, provides three days of interactive activities on March 19, 20, and 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Attendees will enjoy free admission to the Museum plus free art projects, games, story times, and flower potting activities all while learning about inspirational Oklahomans.

"Spring Thing at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame provides three days of free programming to entertain children over their spring break," said Anna Studstill, Director of Museum Experience. "Each day provides fun, educational activities that celebrate Oklahoma's people. Whether it's through crafts, games, story time, or hand-on potting activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy!"

Each day of Spring Thing will have a different theme and feature an Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member. This year's themes and featured Members include: "Oh, Beehive!" (bees and pollination) with Paul B. Sears, "Branching Out" (Oklahoma's trees) with Maimee Lee Robinson Browne, and "Winging It" (Oklahoma's birds) with George M. Sutton.

This year we have multiple community partners helping to support Spring Thing," said Kirsten Therkelson, Manager of Museum Education. "We're happy to partner with the Oklahoma State Beekeepers Association for 'Oh Beehive! Day' on Wednesday, the Oklahoma Conservation Commission for 'Branching Out Day' on Thursday, and the Oklahoma Ornithological Society for 'Winging It Day' on Friday. Additionally, the Oklahoma County Master Gardeners and Home Depot Oklahoma City West are helping to support potting activities during the entire program."

Spring Thing activities are available for all ages, but are mostly geared towards ages 3-8. Story times are offered every half hour starting at 10:30 a.m. Families are welcome to come and go at their convenience, and registration is not required.
