FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 5, 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY – JANUARY 5, 2026 – Registration is now open for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame's annual Oklahoma Scholarship Competition. This competition offers high school students across the state the opportunity to earn money for college. More than $770,000 in cash scholarships and tuition grants are available.
Each year, students in grades 9 through 12 compete in the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition, which tests their knowledge of Oklahoma's history, geography, and its people. The competition consists of a one-hour, online exam administered in March. Students compete against other high schoolers in their county. The top scorers in each county are awarded either a cash scholarship or a tuition grant to an accredited Oklahoma college or university. At least 10 scholarships are available in every county. In 2025, 130 students received scholarships.
"All year long, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame tells the stories of incredible Oklahomans to inspire future generations," said Gini Moore Campbell, vice president at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. "The Oklahoma Scholarship Competition provides financial support to empower our state's high school students to pursue higher education. We are proud to provide resources that equip students from rural and urban areas alike to make a positive impact."
Students must pre-register for the competition on the Oklahoma Hall of Fame website by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 27. Information about competition requirements, available scholarships, and how to prepare for the test can also be found on the website. The testing window will be open from Friday, March 6 to Sunday, March 22.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the Scholarship Awards Assembly on Wednesday, April 22 at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum. More information about the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition can be found online at OklahomaHOF.com under the Scholarships & Awards section.
