Registration for the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition Closes on February 27

High school students from across Oklahoma have the chance to win money for college through the annual Oklahoma Scholarship Competition. Each year, the competition invites high school students to test their knowledge of Oklahoma's history, geography, and its people through an online test. The top scorers in each county are awarded cash scholarships and tuition waivers for in-state colleges and universities. Over $770,000 in scholarship money is available, with individual scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $8,000.

Students must register for the competition by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27. The online examination will be open from March 6 to March 22. Scholarship recipients and their families will be invited to attend the Scholarship Awards Assembly at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum on Wednesday, April 22. Registration information can be found on the Oklahoma Hall of Fame website at: https://www.oklahomahof.com/programs/scholarships-awards#ok-scholarship-competition. March 1 Nomination Deadline Approaches for Oklahoma Hall of Fame Class of 2026

The deadline to nominate an individual to be considered for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Class of 2026 is Sunday, March 1. Each year, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame awards the state's highest honor to Oklahomans who have performed an outstanding service to humanity, the state of Oklahoma, or the United States. To be considered for induction, individuals must be nominated by someone who knows them personally. Nominations should include a compelling narrative of the individual's accomplishments, character, and impact. A confidential Selection Committee consisting of previous Oklahoma Hall of Fame Members and board members chooses the year's class of Inductees from all nominations received by the March 1 deadline, including those held over from previous years. More information on eligibility, nomination requirements, and the selection process can be found on the Oklahoma Hall of Fame website at the bottom of the Current Class page: https://www.oklahomahof.com/hof/current-class. Questions about the nomination form and process should be directed to Melissa Brown at mbrown@oklahomahof.com.
