Oklahoma Hall of Fame Opens Teen Board Applications and Announces Museum Events This April

OKLAHOMA CITY - APRIL 7, 2026: The Oklahoma Hall of Fame invites high school juniors and seniors to apply for its 2026-2027 Teen Board; hosts Second Saturday and Homeschool Day events; and encourages guests to visit rotating exhibits before they close.

Oklahoma Hall of Fame Teen Board Application Open Through May 1
Incoming high school juniors and seniors are invited to apply for the 2026-2027 Oklahoma Hall of Fame Teen Board. Each year, the Teen Board provides young leaders from across the state with opportunities to meet like-minded peers, develop professional skills, and learn from inspirational Oklahomans.
The Oklahoma Hall of Fame Teen Board meets monthly from August to March. Teen Board Members participate in Q&A sessions with Oklahoma leaders, work on committee projects, and raise money for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Free Field Trip program. Students from all corners of the state are encouraged to apply, and travel stipends will be provided for those living outside a 60-mile radius of the Oklahoma City metro.

Free Museum Admission on Second OHOF Saturday
Oklahomans of all ages are invited to explore the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum for free on the second Saturday of each month. The next Second OHOF Saturday program is on April 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guests can participate in a craft, learn about a featured Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member, and explore the Museum. Homeschool Day Provides Curriculum to Families Across the State
The next Oklahoma Hall of Fame Homeschool Day will take place on Wednesday, April 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The theme is Space Cowboys: Oklahomans on the Final Frontier. Students will learn about Oklahoma's astronauts through a variety of staff-led and self-guided activities, lessons, and crafts.
Registration for Homeschool Day is open now through Sunday, April 12. Tickets cost $7 per student and $5 per adult. Children under 4 are free. Sign-up information can be found at https://www.oklahomahof.com/program/homeschool-days.

Framing the Frontier and Oklahoma Leaders in Public Service Exhibits Close on April 25
Two rotating exhibits at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum will close on April 25. Framing the Frontier: Contemporary Artists of the American West features the works of nine Oklahoma-based artists. This vibrant display of paintings, sculptures, photographs, and collages captures each artist's unique take on the myth and muse of the American West. The featured works are available for purchase.
Oklahoma Leaders in Public Service is also on display through April 25. This Story of the Portraits exhibit features eighteen Oklahoma Hall of Fame Members who are recognized for their outstanding commitment to their communities through advocacy, law, education, and philanthropy. This exhibit is a collaborative project by the Gaylord-Pickens Museum and students from the Museum Theory & Practice course at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Regular Museum hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All current and past exhibits can also be viewed online at https://www.oklahomahof.com/museum/virtual.
